Garden putting green installation in Chester
A garden putting green built with 16mm Pro putting green turf and a 40mm artificial grass surround.
The project
G.W Artificial Grass LTD transformed part of this Chester garden into a dedicated putting area. The project photographs show the base preparation, the finished green and the customer practising their putting.
Removing the old lawn
The old grass was removed from the installation area before a layer of weed membrane was laid.
Preparing the base
The installation used a 75mm layer of MOT stone followed by 25mm of grit sand. These are the specifications for this Chester project; the preparation for another garden depends on its conditions and design.
The putting surface and surround
The main playing surface was finished with 16mm Pro putting green turf. A 40mm artificial grass surround frames the green and gives it a contrasting finish.
The finished garden
The customer now has a dedicated space to practise putting at home. The artificial surface reduces routine lawn maintenance, while still needing brushing and removal of leaves and debris.
